I didn’t plan to record this episode.
It came to me.. not during a journaling session, or a moment of deep strategy, but while I was nervously sitting in the waiting room at the dentist. (Real talk, right?)

As I scrolled through Instagram, I came across a story shared by someone I follow

It was raw,

It was unfiltered, and

It was refreshingly honest.

She was in her dressing gown, no makeup, mid-afternoon, managing kids and clients all in one breath. She was talking about how she was building a 7-figure business without needing to “look the part” — how her business was designed to fit around her life, not the other way around.

And while I appreciated where she was coming from (truly, I did), it made me pause and ask a bigger question:

Are we shaping our dream life based on what we actually want…or based on someone else’s version of success?

Because here’s what I see so often…

We absorb.
We scroll.
We admire.
And without realizing it, we start to recreate someone else’s aesthetic, schedule, strategy, or energy thinking maybe that’s the dream.

But what if your dream life looks completely different?

What if your version of success doesn’t include frequent travel or million-dollar launches?
What if it looks like slow mornings, picking your kids up from school, working 3 or 4 focused days a week, and truly being present the rest of the time?

That gets to be valid.
That gets to be enough.
That gets to be celebrated.

I’ve been reflecting on this so much lately… especially as my son enters a new season of growth, and I begin to reimagine how I want my days, weeks, and business to flow around that. Our routines are evolving. So is my energy. And so is the dream.

The truth? I’m no longer trying to squeeze myself into a vision that doesn’t feel like mine.

I’m leaning into what actually energizes me.

Which brings me to something else I didn’t expect to weave into this journey but has become such a grounding force in how I now see myself, my energy, and my business…

Human Design.

I’ve been studying it for a while now and not just my own chart, but my husband’s and son’s as well. Understanding our individual energetics, how we make decisions, process emotions, and even feel pressure, has brought so much compassion into our lives. Especially in motherhood and partnership.

I’m a Manifesting Generator with Emotional Authority.

And it makes so much sense now.

For years, I thought I was “too all over the place.” Too many ideas. Too many pivots. Not enough linear consistency.

But the more I’ve understood my design, the more I realize… I’m not inconsistent. I’m intuitive. I’m dynamic. I’m designed to respond, to experiment, and to build in alignment with what lights me up.

And that’s where the magic is.

This deeper layer of self-awareness has changed how I build not just my business systems and strategies, but my life as a whole. I’m choosing to build around what supports me, not what pressures me.

Because there’s a difference…a big one between chasing fantasy and building a dream life.

Fantasy is the shiny stuff.

The highlight reel.

The curated Pinterest board.

Dream life? That’s built from alignment.
From quiet moments of clarity.
From honoring what actually feels like home in your body.

And yes, I have my vision boards. I love my aesthetics and my pretty planning pins.

But I’ve also learned to go deeper. To listen.
To ask questions like:

  • What do I want my days to feel like?

  • What energizes me and what drains me?

  • What does freedom look like in this season of my life?

  • Am I building what I truly desire or what I think I’m supposed to want?

If you’re in a season of change… If you’re craving more peace, more truth, more spaciousness in the way you build I want you to know, you’re not behind.

You’re evolving.
You’re being honest.
And that’s brave.

Your dream life isn’t built in a day.
It’s built in the small choices.
The intentional pauses.
The honoring of your own rhythm.

So take a moment. Journal it out if that’s your thing. Sit with these questions. Ask what truly matters to you right here, right now.

And give yourself permission to let the dream shift.
Because your life gets to be built for you.
